Chicken Boots, Bad Dog Giveaway

Last year I introduced you all to Sarah Barrera, author of Chicken Boots. Well, I am so excited to announce she has another book out in the Chicken Boots series called Bad Dog! These are such totally adorable children's books and I am delighted to have them as part of our personal book collection.

The theme of friendship from her first book continues in the newest edition to the series, Bad Dog! Of course my country kids can totally relate to these stories as they play with our chickens, but even if a young reader doesn't own chickens, the theme of friendship shines through!

Sarah not only writes these stories, which are based on her children and one of their hens named Nelly, but she also illustrates them as well. Her drawings are so delightful! I'm 42 years old, and I love the images in these books. Sarah's art work is so whimsical and delightful. And if you enjoy her artwork, she now has even more of her work on t-shirts, mugs, greeting cards and much more in her Zazzle shop.

In her first book, the oldest country kid noticed hidden eggs within the pages of the story. He was excited to find this fun continued in Bad Dog!, with not only hidden eggs, but dog biscuits too! Each new page of the story brings an interactive element that is so much fun.

Of course some of our newest family members wanted to take a peek at Bad Dog! too. Cinder, our Black Jersey Giant chick loved looking at the illustrations of Nelly. I think she was taking dramatic pointers from the pictures for future use when she needs to get her point across!

I can honestly say, this book will captivate your little ones and I would highly recommend adding it to your children's collect. You can purchase a signed copy of Chicken Boots Bad Dog or enter to win a copy below.
