A Week of Homestead Photos April 10th - 16th

What a busy week! Our annual Spring Fling Giveaway event kicked off this week, with a new prize up for grabs daily. I put a lot of work into this event, but I love giving folks the chance to get their hands on some wonderful prizes!

Spring has finally sprung, for good I think this time. Flowers are pushing up, the duck pool is open again, and hubby has begun prepping the garden. The temps were in the 70's yesterday! Time to bust out the air conditioner, because this northern girl does not do well with anything over 80!

I spent time in the ER this week with what we thought was congestive heart failure. It was a relief to find out I am just scary anemic. Hey, I'll take it over my ticker going bad! Yes, I always try to look for the silver lining.

So what made me smile this week?

Look at those colors, and those patters and the cute little drake curl on his butt. His bright
orange flappy feet...... I love this duck.

Hanging with chicks makes the oldest country kid a happy boy! I love that smile!

Ester (the official plant inspector) had to make her round to check on the spring flowers.

Mr Bill was feeling his inner child. A game of hopscotch anyone?

Grumpy Goldie's girly infection is back. I am giving her antibiotics, but her bum was getting a
little nasty, so I declared a spa day.

The littlest country kid begged to help get the duck pool ready. Not sure if he just really loves
the ducks or wanted to play with the hose, but if he is willing to help with chores, I'm willing to let him!

The ducks are totally loving having their pool back up and operational after a long weird winter.

"Mom!!! Not now!!!"

The littles went outside for their first big adventure in the upside down playpen. Of course
everyone, including the ducks, had to come over and give them the once over.

Remember to take time out of your busy day to find your own things to make you smile!

  4. Sorry about the ER visit! Hope you are on the mend -- although you got the better diagnosis of the two, still a scary thing. A good dose of poultry watching should help you feel better --not a cure all, mind you, but those cute critters can't help but make one smile and that's a good thing!
