S'mores Milkshake

Its summer and that means the country kids want to have a fire every night and make s'mores. While I do love the smell of a campfire, I am not letting them stay up late every night just to make s'mores, because for some odd reason, they feel it has to be dark to have a fire! So what is a mama to do? Come up with an awesome, anytime milkshake that will knock their socks off!

This is a sweet and easy to make treat that has all the s'mores elements.... chocolate, toasted marshmallows, and graham crackers! So go get some ice cream and your blender because I am going to tell you how to whip these bad boys up!

Ingredients
1 quart of vanilla ice cream
1 bag of mini marshmallows
2 cups milk
Chocolate syrup
Honey graham crackers
Whip cream

Start by setting your oven on broil and moving your rack as close to the top of the oven as possible. Next use a little cooking spray to coat a cookie sheet. Pour your mini marshmallows on the cookie sheet and pop them in the oven to toast. Keep an eye on them so they don't catch fire, just like over a campfire. It should take the marshmallows about 5 minutes to brown up nicely.

While the marshmallows are getting all toasty and yummy, you are going to want to turn your graham crackers into a fine crumble. I used about half of one of those sleeves they coming. You know how you get three sleeves to a box kind of thing. I just put them in a zip lock bag and used my rolling pin to turn them into a fine crumble.

Once your marshmallows are toasted, let them cool as you get your milkshake base ready. I have an awesome blender so I could just put the quart of ice cream and 2 cup of milk in and just go to town. If your blender isn't this awesome, you can mix the milkshake base up in smaller batches. Once you have the thickness of milkshake that you like, it is time to add the toasted marshmallow and most of the graham crackers to the blender. Save a little graham cracker crumble to top you whip cream with.

I pour the chocolate syrup and the milkshake into the glass at the same time. I use a spoon to mix it throughout the milkshake after I pour, as the chocolate tend to be heavier and sink. I add a whip cream top to the shake and sprinkle a little graham crack as a garnish (yes, I just said I garnished my milkshake... No, I am not a weird food freak, it just made it look pretty!) and serve it to my family.

Does my family like these S'mores milkshakes? Let's put it this way.... They have stopped asking to stay up and have a campfire every night! *wink* So I would say yes! I hope your family enjoys them as much as mine!
