Lally Broch Farm Giveaway

One of the wonderful parts of blogging is the incredible people you meet along the way. At the beginning of my blogging journey, I crossed paths with Sonja from Lally Broch Farm. While she does blog, she is also and incredibly resourceful lady who handcrafts so many wonderful items.

When she first started doing jewelry using eggshell, I was impressed not only with her artistic ability but the medium she was working in. Over the years her talents have blown me away. She is a true artist!

Her family's journey to provide sustainable food and home-made products for themselves and others is the an amazing journey you can find on her blog, Lally Broch Farm. They have some adorable baby goats over there!

I was delighted when Sonja agreed to be part of our Spring Fling Giveaway Event this year. I love her jewelry pieces and she has offered a second prize of her Snapper Towels! And the great thing is you can pick which one you want to enter, or heck, enter BOTH if you want!!

Prize #1 Snapper Towel/Bee's Wax Wrap Sets

One of Sonja's pet-peeve is using paper products to clean up messes around the homestead. Like many of us, she is always looking for ways to be greener. She switched to using cleaning cloths, which she made from remnants of towels or face clothes that had seen better days, but while they cut down on waste, they often went missing. That is when Snapper Towels were born!

Snapper Towels are sized the same as paper towels. The front of the cloths are a pretty cotton pattern; the back is absorbent terry cloth. Double stitched, these are made to last! They snap together to form a handy, reusable, eco-friendly, "green" roll of towels. The size and heft of the snaps make sure that when four go into the wash, all four come back out. The Snapper Towels don't go missing!

In this prize pack you will also receive Bee's Wax Wraps which are made using 100% cotton and bee's wax, which is a naturally antibiotic substance. If you are concerned about the potential of BPA, estrogen, and other compounds leaching from some plastic products, like cling wrap, then this item will be of interest to you!

Since the wax permeates the cotton, food particles do not stick to it. To wash, just rinse with lukewarm water and hang to dry before reusing. With usage, the waxed surface will naturally show signs of wear and foxing. To "revitalize" them, simply place them in a warm, sunny spot to melt and redistribute the wax. Each roll of Bee's Wax Wraps contain 2 large 11" x 11" squares (perfect to wrap around casserole dishes, larger plates or to wrap sandwiches in) and 4 small 9" x 9" squares.

While you can buy Snapper Towels or Bee's Wax Wraps by private messaging Sonja on her Lally Broch Farm Facebook page, she is offering one of you the chance to win your own roll of Snapper Towels AND a set of Bee's Wax Wraps! How cool is that!?!?

  13. Sadly, I'm not as 'green' as we could be. But it's a work in progress and I make a daily effort to leave smaller footprints. I was and reuse everything possible, and even some that aren't ;) I planted seedlings in citrus rinds this year, instant compost if it works! I make an effort to buy things in recycled containers, not always possible or easy to determine, but I try!
Thankfully, I don't have very big feet...and little things count, right?!

My husband is starting to brew his own beer and I get to use the "spent" grains in things like muffins and dog treats. We also use household cleaners, laundry products, hand and body soaps, shampoo, conditioners and much more from Melaleuca. They have great all natural concentrated products that last longer than any store bought product that I've ever bought. And they work great and I don't have reactions to the smells or chemicals.
